What is a Landing Page?

In the traditional sense, a landing page (or squeeze page) is the first page a visitor will see when they arrive at your website.  Although that definition is pretty basic, there are several ways you can utilize a landing page.

1. Lead generation – add an offer and opt in box on your landing page to collect your site visitors content info in exchange for a free gift. One of our favorite clients, Kammie Lisenby of Simply Efficient uses this method on her site.

2. Personal welcome message – create a video welcoming your new site visitors to your site and introduce your brand. Nika Stewart aka “The Laptop Mom” does this perfectly!

3. An online “basecamp” – if you have multiple online projects and social media links, you can use your landing page to list them so that your visitor has the option of clicking through to whichever project they’re most interested in.  I have several online projects that I’m working on, so the online basecamp method worked perfectly for me!
